Front Sculpting

Once again this project had to be placed on hold!

I have found it rather difficult to find spare time to continue this project due to the large work-load over the last few months; Though I managed to sledge in some hours over the last week, which has been great!

I managed to do some sculpting on the front of the model, blocking the majority of the details in and making sure all of the surfaces were reading coherently - I'm most impressed with the headlight details that came out, a detail that really made the model more realistic. The next step is to focus on the glasshouse and tail-end.

Keep following - While I'm trying to free up some time towards my own projects now.

Early Stages

It has definitely been some time since I've last updated the blog.

Spare time is now a thing in the past, there is never enough hours in a day. So I managed to sneak in a few hours for some Alias modelling over the last week, after leaving the skyline project on hold for the past two months I figured an update on the project was well overdue!

The overall form is taking shape, feature lines and highlights were of high priority - next step is to complete the front and rear of the body, then hone in on the windows and detail surrounds.

Updates will now be back to the regular weekly pattern!

In the moment

Inspiration for this form was sourced from a painting recently viewed when dining at a restaurant; from a glance, the expression and stance of the painted form gave me a basis to illustrate into a concept vehicle.

Sketch render done in the usual fashion, pen sketch then painted in Photoshop using the Wacom tablet.

Project HT2000GT-R

Teaser, ht2000gt-r shoes.

The start of a new project, 3d modelling the classic Nissan Skyline HT2000GT-R. I've always had a soft spot towards classic styling and surface treatment, especially when it comes to the Japanese historics. So my spare time will be focused on modelling the vehicle in Alias Automotive, regular updates will be posted up as the project progresses.

Illustration Exercise - Erbacher

Inspired by the custom bike scene, I thought it wouldn't be a half bad idea to do a sketch of a bike, rather than typically doing Automobiles. The Erbacher custom bike stood out the most, when searching through hundreds of bikes, the tough appearance and stance displays a lot of character.

The exercise was focused on illustration, rather than a quick sketch render. This was all done in Photoshop, sketched in on the wacom tablet and then rendered.

Retro Theme

Kick starting a new year with some more Photoshop rendering. This concept is set as a scene based in the 70's; A group of inventors collaborated together in the exploration of vehicle styling, there objectives are based on generating future-based concepts with a retro feel. These concepts were never revealed to the public.

The rendering process began by sketching in Photoshop, then tone & colour applied in a painter-style approach, sourced image was used for the flooring. Done using a Wacom Tablet.
